Uso de antiinflamatório aumenta riscos cardíacos em 40%

Voltaren tem como princípio ativo o diclofenaco, que aumenta os riscos de um ataque cardíacoA informação alarmante foi divulgada nesta terça-feira pela edição on-line da revista "Nature". Os riscos cardiovasculares da droga são tão graves quanto os apresentados pelo antiinflamatório Vioxx, retirado do mercado há cerca de dois anos.A revisão sobre as pesquisas anteriores, publicada no Journal of the American Medical Association, analisou 23 estudos que envolveram 1,6 milhão de pacientes.O diclofenaco é uma das substâncias mais receitadas do mundo. Especialistas entrevistados pela "Nature" informaram que um medicamento equivalente ao diclofenaco que não eleva riscos cardíacos seria o naproxeno.Em nota, a Novartis, fabricante do Voltaren e Cataflam afirmou que o tipo de estudo realizado "não é aceito pelos órgãos reguladores como evidência clínica para suporte de registro de produto". A nota afirma ainda que outros estudos científicos não indicam qualquer aumento de risco cardiovascular relacionado ao uso do diclofenaco.A Novartis afirma ainda que o estudo não levou em consideração dados favoráveis ao remédio e que considera o resultado do estudo questionável. A empresa não pretende retirar os medicamentos de circulação.
